What is the Liberated Voice Trinity!?
As I was exploring my own progression with activating my voice and allowing myself to become more and more authentically expressed, I realized that there wasn't just 1 sole voice that was contributing to my expression.
The was it came to me was in the form of a trinity; The Subconscious/Ego Voice, The Soul Voice, The Vocal Voice.
When we do the work on these three levels we activate our Liberated Voice, the voice that is authentically ours and fully empowered. This is the voice that allows us to express ourselves in our own unique way and create an impact and change.
Let's dive a little into what these voices are and ways we can begin to work with them and shift them if desired.
The Subconscious/Ego Voice
The Subconscious Voice or Ego voice is your internal voice that comes from your subconscious mind. This part of your mind is in the drivers seat until age 7ish, constantly soaking up what you hear and experience around you. That means any beliefs and values that those around you are expressing are implanted into your subconscious mind, even in your sleep! It controls about 95% of our lives! Always looking for the easiest way, protecting you and preserve your energy. So when we think about the fact that we are absorbing other people's ideas and beliefs and this plays on a loop, you can start to see how just speaking affirmations isn't going to cut it. To create sustainable changes in beliefs and behaviors we have to get our subconscious on board.
The Subconscious Voice Can Sound Like: Criticisms (I'm not smart enough. I'm not talented enough.) Fears (I don't know what the outcome is so I don't want to do this!) Doubts (I can't do this! I've failed before!) Influenced by Others (What will mom think? What will ______ say?)
Protecting (What if this horrible thing happens? Let's not do it!)
Shifting Your Subconscious Voice:
So many times people default to using affirmations to help them shift their mindset. While this can be helpful it doesn't actually help change the internal beliefs you already hold.
For powerful subconscious shifts my absolute favorite tool is hypnosis.
Hypnosis allows us to speak directly to the subconscious mind and create shifts in beliefs and behaviors. The Soul Voice
The Soul Voice is not a voice that is related to your mind. This voice comes from your higher self and true inner self.
Often times this voice will become silenced and suppressed by all of the other voices that bombard us as we move through life. It is always there, it just becomes quieter.
It's a key part to living our most authentic and joyous lives. It is very much our inner compass!
What the Soul Voice Sounds Like:
Straight Forward & Certain
Has No Outside Influence
Is of Higher Consciousness
Concerned With Your Expansion & Highest Good
Connecting to Your Soul Voice: Regulating and grounding Dropping out of your mind into your body
Spending time alone so that you can take the time to listen to your inner voice Calling your Soul Voice forward & letting it know you're listening & it is safe
This is all about practicing and getting familiar with your own Soul Voice.
The Vocal Voice
The Vocal Voice is the voice we use to speak! This is where I really like to start to explore the Throat Chakra.
The Throat Chakra is tied to issues of faith, decision making, personal expression, emotional expression and creativity.
Healing and Activating The Throat Chakra:
Essential Oils: Lavender, Rosemary, Frankincense
Crystals: Turquoise, Aquamarine, Blue Kyanite
Yoga Poses: Warrior II, Bridge Pose, Triangle Pose
Re-Building a Connection With Your Vocal Voice: It's so important that we take the time to reconnect to our vocal voices. So many people say they dislike their voice, but I believe that it's just the lack of hearing themselves speak paired with masking their true voices. A great way to rebuild that connection with your vocal voice is as simple as recording yourself speaking in your most natural state and listening to it often. I love to use my mission statement or purpose statement so I get used to hearing myself owning it!
Taking Care of Your Vocal Voice:
Vocal care is not just for singers! It's important that as people choosing to actively use our voices, in our lives and businesses, that we care for our voices. Some ways you can take care of your voice are: Drinking plenty of water Giving your voice breaks between uses
Using breathing techniques to take the strain off of your throat Warming up your vocal chords before speaking/singing
Using a humidifier Drinking non-caffeinated warm drinks
Wrapping It Up
So there you have it! A run down of The Liberated Voice Trinity. Which voice do you feel you need to most work around? Drop any questions or ah-has that came up for you in the comments! I'd love to hear what came through for you while reading this.
